I am writing to tell you about the survey I’ve made on “Using paper cards or e-cards” in our class.
About 30% of the students want to use the paper card. Firstly, people can make them by themselves and they can show people’s real feelings. Secondly, people can take them everywhere they go and keep them for a long time. Thirdly, people don’t have to read them through computers.
However, about 70% of the students prefer to use e-cards. E-cards can carry much information and people can send them quickly. Besides, using e-cards can save paper so that the environment can be protected well. What’s more, people can make different kinds of designs that they like.

Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on young children. Do you agree or disagree?
I tend to agree that young children can be negatively affected by too mcuh time spent on the computer every day. This is partly because sitting in front of a screen for too long can be damaging to both the eyes and the physical posture of a young child, regardless of what they are using the computer for.
However, the main concern is about the type of computer activities that attract children. These are often electronic games that tend to be very intense and rather violent. The player is usually the hero of the game and too much exposure can encourage children to be self-centered and insensitive to others.
Even when children use a computer for other purposes, such as getting information or emailing friends, it is no substitute for human interaction. Spending time with other children and sharing non-virtual experiences is and important part of a childs development that cannot be provided by a computer.
In spite of this, the obvious benefits of computer skills for young children cannot be denied. Their adult world will be changing constantly in terms of technology and the Internet is the key to all the knowledge and information available in the world today. Therefore it is important that children learn at an early age to use the equipment enthusiastically and with confidence as they will need these skills throughout their studies and working lives.

說(shuō)起英語(yǔ),我想現(xiàn)在的學(xué)子們都不陌生了,英語(yǔ)已經(jīng)成了從小學(xué)到大學(xué)的必修課。招聘、升學(xué)英語(yǔ)都不可或缺,英語(yǔ)儼然成了現(xiàn)代人生活的一項(xiàng)必備技能。但我想,技能以外,英語(yǔ)還能帶給我們很多東西。
八零后的我,是從初中開(kāi)始接觸英語(yǔ)的。初中一年級(jí),從字母學(xué)起,初聽(tīng)A、B、C的字母英文歌就被這門(mén)語(yǔ)言深深的吸引住了,至今對(duì)其迷戀不已。作為一名小鎮(zhèn)長(zhǎng)大的孩子,要想學(xué)好英語(yǔ)是多么的艱難,個(gè)中滋味可能也就只有我自己知道了。初中學(xué)校在小鎮(zhèn)上,英語(yǔ)老師大都是師范中專(zhuān)畢業(yè)的,沒(méi)有受過(guò)專(zhuān)門(mén)的英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)訓(xùn)練,無(wú)論是發(fā)音還是語(yǔ)法分析、單詞釋義,都很難說(shuō)規(guī)范,甚至有些常常是錯(cuò)誤的。但就是這些,我還是很感激將我引向這門(mén)語(yǔ)言的初中英文老師,寧老師。那時(shí)的我,頑皮且對(duì)英語(yǔ)充滿(mǎn)了好奇,上課常常學(xué)得比別人快,但又經(jīng)常地搞個(gè)怪引得哄堂大笑,讓老師的課沒(méi)法繼續(xù)。對(duì)此,寧老師不但沒(méi)有生氣,反而經(jīng)常的表?yè)P(yáng)我,讓我起來(lái)背課文,上黑板去默寫(xiě)單詞,推薦課外書(shū)給我讀以此開(kāi)闊我的視野。最重要的是,寧老師給我推薦了一些發(fā)音方面的書(shū)讓我去讀,找課文的錄音帶讓我去聽(tīng),去模仿。寧老師說(shuō),老師的有些發(fā)音也不準(zhǔn)確,希望你能通過(guò)聽(tīng)這些磁帶練好。寧老師的這些話讓我至今難忘。真慶幸有這樣一位嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)、謙虛的好老師。我想,我現(xiàn)在英語(yǔ)扎實(shí)的基本功與寧老師是分不開(kāi)的,雖然沒(méi)從她那學(xué)到多少知識(shí),但她的嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)、她的指點(diǎn)、她的包容,鼓勵(lì)了我。
及至高中,學(xué)英語(yǔ)就帶了些濃重的功利色彩了。為了高考,整天的題海。老師的講解,我的看書(shū),也不過(guò)是圍繞高考做準(zhǔn)備,沒(méi)有太多的印象了,也沒(méi)有太好的成績(jī)。我再次燃起對(duì)英語(yǔ)的興趣,是大學(xué)時(shí)期的事了。大學(xué)時(shí),雖也要為過(guò)英語(yǔ)四六級(jí)而考試,但這時(shí)的學(xué)英語(yǔ),自由度要大了很多。真正觸動(dòng)我的是大一第一次期末英語(yǔ)考試,當(dāng)時(shí)班里三十八人我考了三十五名,幾乎墊底,不服輸?shù)男愿褡屛野l(fā)誓要從頭再來(lái)。從頭再來(lái),說(shuō)起來(lái)豪邁,做起來(lái)艱辛。
聽(tīng)力,我曾經(jīng)的強(qiáng)項(xiàng),由于高考的不考也退化了很多。這時(shí),我先用收音機(jī)堅(jiān)持每天聽(tīng)校園的廣播,校園廣播聽(tīng)熟了,我又開(kāi)始聽(tīng)VOA的.慢速英語(yǔ)。到最后,這些都聽(tīng)熟了,我又狠心買(mǎi)了臺(tái)CD機(jī)(現(xiàn)在的小孩可能沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)),買(mǎi)來(lái)VOA的常速材料來(lái)聽(tīng),初聽(tīng)一頭霧水,很受打擊。于是我就先預(yù)習(xí)文字然后再聽(tīng),對(duì)于每個(gè)不熟悉的發(fā)音,連讀,升降語(yǔ)調(diào),輕重語(yǔ)氣都做標(biāo)記,再反復(fù)的聽(tīng),最后這些都能適應(yīng)了,應(yīng)付聽(tīng)力考試自然是OK了。
閱讀方面,我先是精研大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課本,將里面的每一個(gè)詞從文章里的用法到其他的釋義用法都逐一解決;再到文章里的每一句話的語(yǔ)法特點(diǎn),句子的構(gòu)成,都詳細(xì)分析;最后到作者的謀篇布局,所傳達(dá)的思想我都仔細(xì)品讀。精讀之外,更多的是讀泛讀課本以及一些課外的讀物!洞髮W(xué)英語(yǔ)》,在當(dāng)時(shí)是本不錯(cuò)的雜志,在圖書(shū)館發(fā)現(xiàn)的,好長(zhǎng)時(shí)間內(nèi)都迷上了這本雜志,里面有對(duì)四六級(jí)考試的一些解析,更多的是一些美文可以品讀,地道的語(yǔ)言,優(yōu)美的文筆,都深深地吸引了我。記得還從校園書(shū)店購(gòu)得一本《名家名作百篇賞析》,里面的文章簡(jiǎn)短,卻都美輪美奐,感人至深,海倫凱勒的《假如給我三天光明》,馬丁路德金的《我有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想》,這些名篇至今還能出口成誦。隨著閱讀量的增大,我的詞匯量與語(yǔ)言能力也得到了大幅度的提高。此時(shí)的我,在班里已是英語(yǔ)的佼佼者了,四六級(jí)都以高分通過(guò)。我對(duì)英語(yǔ)的感情,也由最初的雪恥,變成了深?lèi)?ài)。在別人看來(lái)學(xué)英語(yǔ)功成名就的時(shí)候,我卻更加瘋狂地愛(ài)上了英語(yǔ)。這時(shí)的目的當(dāng)然不是考試了,而是被英語(yǔ)以及由這門(mén)語(yǔ)言而表達(dá)的思想所吸引了。閑來(lái)無(wú)事,我讀了大量的英文小說(shuō)與散文。狄更斯的《雙城記》,菲茨杰拉德的《了不起的蓋茨比》,艾迪生《威斯敏斯特大教堂的遐思》等,這些作品讓我在了解當(dāng)時(shí)社會(huì)、異國(guó)文化的前提下,更多了一些對(duì)人性,對(duì)人生的思考。有些東西,讀譯作是品不到的。
