　　端午節(jié)(The Dragon Boat Festival)

　　The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals, the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.

　　The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Qu Yuan. He was a good and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfav or in the emperors court.

　　Unable to regain the respect of the emperor, in his sorrow Qu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Qu Yuan, the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

　　Although they were unable to find Qu Yuan, their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

　　端午節(jié)，也叫雙第五節(jié)，是在陰歷的第五個(gè)月的第第五天慶祝的。它是中國(guó)最重要的節(jié)日之一，另外兩個(gè)是中秋節(jié)和農(nóng)歷新年。

　　這個(gè)夏季節(jié)日的由來(lái)圍繞著一位名叫屈原的愛(ài)國(guó)詩(shī)人。他是一個(gè)非常好的`值得尊敬的人，但因?yàn)楸患刀仕�的奸臣陷害他最終投江。

　　無(wú)法恢復(fù)皇帝的尊重，在他的悲傷屈原投身到汨羅江。因?yàn)樗麄儗?duì)屈原的欽佩，住在洛洛河附近的當(dāng)?shù)鼐用駴_進(jìn)他們的船里搜尋他，一邊往河里扔大米，以安撫龍河。
