保護(hù)環(huán)境英語作文 篇2
From this cartoon, we can see that at the top end of the river,is a chemical factory and a paperrnaking factory which send out and poisonous wastes. And the river has been seriously polluted,n be seen from the color of it. Along this "black" river, there area few people selling fresh water which must have been taken from far away places.
At the first glance, it is very strange to us how can people sell water along the river, but this is the case, because the water in this river is undrinkable. This presents a serious social problem--environmental pollution. With the development of economy, our living standards have been greatly improved. But we can' t ignore the fact the air we take in and the water we drink today are not as fresh and clean as they used to be. Some kinds of pollution can even be deadly to people. It is high time that we took some measures to solve the problem.
I think we can first call people's attention to this problem so that they will be aware of the serious consequences of it. Then,we can pass certain laws to restrain the factories from sending out wastes. Finally, we can do more resarch work to find out ways to deal with the wastes.
Keep Square Clean, Tidy On Sunday, still on display on Tian'anmen Square were dozens of floats that were paraded along Chang' an Avenue during the NationalDay celebrations. Thousands of people strolled on the narrow lanes be- tween the floats that fragmented the square, busily taking photos. Not far from the noisy crowds, yellow leaves fell nonchalantly from locust trees along the driveway, sending out the first signals of the coming autumn. But even if all the leaves fall, they still cannot cover the brown and black spots on the hitish stones in the huge square.
Such stains of chewing gum, stale oil or some worse blemish have remained a constant pain for city cleaners since the square 'was re-opened a few months ago after renovations to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Few renovation project planners likely foresee this discouraging outcome. Originally, they merely intended to give the city a facelift. The square was indeed impeccable when new: The-white terrazzo surface not only looks clean but it was made with materials that help prevent it from becoming slippery.
However, as time goes by, the virtue becomes the vice: the surface attracts and accentuates dirt. As a result, China' s most high profile site has to suffer the indignity of being paraded daily efore thepublic in a humiliation state.
While the tourists who litter should bear the bulk of the blame, the renovation designers should also have learned something: including the square's sanitary maintenance issue into their consideration.

This August I went to a two-week long English camp which was held by English Beacon in Yantai city, Shandong Province. There were over a hundred middle school students from all over the country and thirty experts in English teaching participating in this exciting camp. While we were there, it was required that we speak only English to our teachers and with each other. There were many activities which were funny and helped us to strengthen our oral English skills, such as, the Second Annual National Debate for Middle School Students, the Third National English Speech Competition for Middle School Students and English parties. We also visited many places of interest. Learning English was exciting and the teachers were very friendly and helpful. This camp was a real life-changing experience that I will never forget.

It is very important to deal with the rubbish in cities. For one thing, rubbish may cause a lot of pollution. It may pollute the air, the water and the places we live in. For another, it may do harm to peoples health.
So in our city, rubbish is well dealt with. First, it is sorted. Then old newspapers and glass are recycled. The harmful wastes are buried and the waste water is cleaned before it goes into the river. The government has already made laws against pollution caused by rubbish.
But thats not enough. We must all try our. best to prevent rubbish from polluting the environment so as to. save our city and our living place.

保護(hù)環(huán)境英語作文 篇7
Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing, and industry are more important than saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In the past, there have been many endangered animals. Now they are extinct. Does it matter? Has our environment been affected by their absence? Has the quality of our own life been changed? The answer to these questions is "Yes." It does matter if we destroy an endangered species habitat to develop more farmland, housing or industrial parks. There is a delicate balance of nature. If one small part is removed, it will affect all the other parts. For example, if certain trees are cut down, bats will have no place to roost.
If they cannot roost, they cannot breed. If there are no bats, there will be no animal, or bird to eat certain insects that plague our crops. Our environment has been affected by the absence of certain animals. Certain flowers are pollinated by butterflies which migrate from Canada to Mexico. Some of the breeding grounds of these butterflies were destroyed. Now these flowers are disappearing from certain areas. We will no longer be able to enjoy their beauty. The quality of our life has been changed. America used to be covered with giant trees. Now we have to visit them in one small park. Rainforests around the world are being cut down to make room for humans. We will never be able to see or study this fragile ecosystem.I would encourage us humans to look for other alternatives for our farmlands, housing, and industries. We have alternatives; the animals do not.
保護(hù)環(huán)境英語作文 篇8
Private cars have become an important aspect of people’s life in many parts of our country, especially in large cities such as Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou. While they bring much convenience to people, they are also widely criticized.
There are some arguments for owning private cars.In the first place, cars allow people to move around freely, whichgreatly improves our living standard. We easily drive cars for traveling. In second place,When we have something urgent to do,cars are quick than other vehicles in some extent.Last but not least, the car industry can boost economy by creating many job opportunities.
However, there are also many arguments against cars.First of all, they pollute the environment by emitting harmful gases. What’s more, cars cause a large number of traffic accidents, which bring great misery to their family.
As far as I am concerned,we should limit the number of private cars by providing better mass transportation and better service for the people.Everyone should sacrifice his or her own interest for the mass society.
